Product Customizer is a Shopify app for stores that sell personalised and made-to-order products. Your customers design it, and your workshop receives files it can produce from.

For five or six years, Rod Grey looked for a customiser good enough for the cricket bats his workshop makes. Every tool he found looked like cheap promotional merchandise, so he built his own.

No commission on your orders.
One flat monthly price. Each plan includes everything in the plan before it, and you choose for each product which level it uses. A store can run its hero product in 3D, a second line in 2D and plain items on options.

What it is being built to do

It looks like your store from the first minute
On install, Product Customizer reads your theme's colours, fonts, buttons and spacing, and styles itself to match. A simple panel lets you adjust anything, and one button refreshes it after you change your theme.
Production files at true size
Every order produces files your workshop can use directly: print files for 2D products, and true-scale production files for 3D products, ready for printing, laser and CNC.
One photo in, no Photoshop
Upload one photo of your plain product. The app removes the background, suggests the design zones for you to confirm, separates highlights and shadows so colours and logos pick up real folds and shine, and estimates depth so artwork wraps over curves. No layer work on your side.
A free product library
A growing library of ready-made 2D and 3D products that any store can use at no extra cost. Every item is our own, and each one is checked and approved by a person before it goes live. Custom models can be made for a one-off charge, billed through Shopify.
We do the switch-over for you
Tell us which products you customise today. The app reads your existing product pages, photos and options and rebuilds them, and our team finishes anything left by hand.
Support that answers
Every message is answered quickly and in plain language. Phone support runs around the clock through an AI voice agent that tells you plainly that it is an AI. It can see your store setup, fixes simple things on the call, and books a callback from a real person for anything else. Inside the app, a setup assistant has a real person behind it.

Which Shopify plans does it work on?
All of them. Product Customizer will work on every Shopify plan.
Does it take a cut of my sales?
No. You pay one flat monthly price. There is no commission and no fee per order.
What happens to my designs if I leave?
You will be able to export your data, including saved customer designs and your product setups. We would rather keep you on value than by holding your work.
When does it launch?
In 2027. Early access stores hear first and help shape what ships.
